On June 28, Ukraine is annually celebrated a public holiday, Constitution Day, on the occasion of the adoption of the main law of Ukraine.

The first Constitution of the Ukrainian independent state was approved 24 years ago, on June 28, 1996. The document recognized the legal aspects of Ukraine’s independence, its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The adoption of the Constitution has become one of the most important steps in ensuring human and civic rights and promoting the further growth of international authority of the state.
