NATO has announced the deployment of 10 members of the Russian mission to the North Atlantic Alliance in connection with hostile activities.
“NATO has decided to halve Russia’s mission to the alliance in response to alleged hostile activities, including assassinations and espionage,” Deborah Haynes, editor of Sky News, wrote on Twitter. NATO will send eight Russian diplomats, “considered unannounced intelligence agents.” Two positions in the Russian mission will be abolished.
According to Sky News, in the summer NATO asked member countries to report on “suspicious hostile activities by Russia.” In September, all countries reported on the issue, after which NATO decided to reduce the Russian mission from 20 to 10 people.
NATO headquarters also confirmed the reduction of Russia’s mission. “NATO has decided to reduce the accreditation of 10 Russian diplomats.”
And who would doubt that? There can be no faith for the Russians!
