There was an explosion on the oil tanker Semyon Dezhnev, which is currently located in the waters of the Lena River in the Irkutsk region. Vapors of oil products exploded on the ship.
As a result, two crew members were injured. They were handed over to medics from the ambulance crew. Eyewitnesses to the emergency claimed that there was a spill of oil products. There is a high probability that the spill of oil products in the waters of the Lena River may threaten the ecology of Eurasia and North America. The Lena River flows into the Laptev Sea of the Arctic Ocean, the waters of which wash large areas of the United States and Canada.
This is not the first time when the Russian Federation, which is trying to blackmail other countries with its oil, is threatening the environmental security of entire continents. It will be recalled that in October 2020 there was an explosion on board the tanker “General Azi Aslanov” in the Sea of Azov. There were 13 people on board, three of whom were thrown overboard by the blast. Some of the oil transported by the ship spilled into the Sea of Azov, endangering the lives and health of millions of people.
How many more emergencies must occur to make it clear how much we are paying for oil produced in Russia?
