
Moldovan President Maya Sandu discussed energy cooperation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The leaders agreed to work together in the energy sector to prevent crises stimulated by the Russian Federation.
“The leaders discussed possible areas of further bilateral cooperation in order to prevent energy crises. The President of Ukraine noted his readiness to continue providing assistance to Moldova in the issue of adequate energy supply. To this end, the parties agreed to hold consultations in Ukraine in the near future”,the press service said.
In turn, Sandu thanked Zelensky for his help during the energy crisis that arose in Moldova, in particular due to gas manipulations by Russia’s Gazprom.
In addition, the interlocutors exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation, in particular on progress in the implementation of the project to build a bridge over the Dniester.
Finally, Zelensky and Sandu touched upon issues of cooperation in the field of European integration, emphasizing the need to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Eastern Partnership summit.
