Today, on November 12, a paratrooper force of the Airborne Troops of the Russian Armed Forces has landed at the Gozhsky training range near Grodno. The Russian military was also joined by a tactical landing force of the Special Operations Forces of the Belarusian Armed Forces. Aircrafts IL-76 of Russian military transport aviation were involved in the landing, as well as helicopters of the Air Force and the Belarusian Air Defense Forces.

According to the Belarusian Defense Ministry, this is a test of one of the components of the Union State’s response forces, which is carried out allegedly because of the build-up of military activities near the state border. “Military activity” in Belarus is referred to as protection of the Lithuanian-Polish border from migrants.

The “Gozhsky” training ground is only 5 kilometers from the Lithuanian border and 30 kilometers from the Polish border.

Earlier, on November 12, a group of migrants managed to cross the border crossing in Kuznica on the Belarusian side. They were detained by the Polish army, border guards and police, as the Polish Defense Ministry reports.
