
During a working trip to the area of the Joint Forces Operation, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Valery Zaluzhny received a report by the Joint Forces Commander Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk on the current and security situation in the east of Ukraine. The Minister of Defense and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were acquainted with the experience and prospects of combat use of the Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicle in order to repel and deter armed aggression by the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Oleksiy Reznikov stressed the urgent need for further purchase of Bayraktar TB2 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Minister of defence of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov informed that Turkey is using Ukrainian engines to build Bayraktars. Reznikov added, that Ministry of Defence is planing to buy them next year, they will be used because we have to defend our independence, including in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine assured that the Armed Forces are constantly ready to use a strike drone in case of provocative actions by the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
Also, during the trip, the working group inspected the state of affairs at the advanced positions of the Ukrainian troops, got acquainted with the situation at those bases where the enemy often violates the ceasefire. The Chief of the Defense Ministry and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces were informed on measures that are taken in order to protect the lives and health of servicemen and civilians.
