The UK is ready to send around 600 Special Forces soldiers to Ukraine. The news comes amid fears that Russia is preparing an invasion. This was reported by the British daily tabloid Mirror, citing its own sources.

Preparations began after the heads of defense agencies and Chief of the UK Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) Richard Moore told the British government that Russian President Vladimir Putin represents a clear and present danger to Ukraine and the West.

A British force – consisting of SAS members, the Special Reconnaissance Regiment, medics, engineers, signallers and up to 400 paratroopers from 16 Air Assault Brigade – is being set up.

All the Special Forces are already aware that they may soon be deployed to Ukraine.

“Between 400 and 600 troops are ready. Their equipment is packed and they are ready to fly to Ukraine and either land or parachute in. They have trained for both eventualities”, the source said.
