British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said the following, “Britain supports Ukraine because it is committed to democracy and freedom, and the EU will have to choose between Russian hydrocarbons and Ukraine.”
Johnson said, “When we say that we support the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine, this is not because we want to be hostile towards Russia or that we want to somehow strategically surround or undermine this great country. This is because we have a commitment to democracy and freedom that is now being shared across the vast territory of the European continent.”
He warned that soon the EU countries would have to choose between channeling more and more Russian hydrocarbons into giant new pipelines and defending Ukraine to advocate for peace and stability.
