
On 18 November, the jury of the Stockholm International Film Festival announced this year’s winners. The Ukrainian film “Rhino” won the grand prize, and Serhii Filimonov, who played the main role in won in the category “Best Actor“.
This was announced by the festival’s press service.
“Rhino” is the first Ukrainian film to win at the Stockholm festival.
“Rhino is not only an exceptional film but also a victory for Oleh Sentsov, who finally managed to complete his project after 5 years in a Russian prison,” said festival chief director Git Sheinius.
The main character was played by a non-professional actor Serhii Filimonov, who is a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He received the Best Actor award at the Batumi International Film Festival.
The film will be released in Ukraine in February 2022.
