The world must do its utmost to prevent future tragedies such as the Holodomor of 1932-1933 and to help those who suffer today under the yoke of tyranny. US President Joe Biden addressed the Holodomor Remembrance Day.

Biden called on the world to do everything possible to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

“Every November, we pay tribute to the millions of innocent Ukrainians who suffered and died during the Holodomor of 1932 and 1933. Men, women and children fell victim to the brutal policies of the Joseph Stalin regime. The Ukrainian people overcame the horrors of the Holodomor by demonstrating their spirit and resilience and ultimately creating a free and democratic society”- said the US President.

Biden also added that the United States reaffirms its commitment to the people of Ukraine and its unwavering support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Holodomor victims will be commemorated on November 27 this year. Remembrance Day falls on the fourth Saturday of the last month of autumn each year.
