The Czech government may send its military to Ukraine. They will help Armed Forces of Ukraine to resist Russia if it attacks.
The military will be sent if there is a corresponding request. Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová made this statement.
“If the Czech Republic is asked to send Czech soldiers to Ukraine, we are ready to consider it. We have the will to help Ukraine,” the minister said.
It is not known how many Czech troops can be sent to help the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Cernochova noted that the Czech Republic, like Ukraine, has experience of Russian oppression, so will not leave Ukraine alone with Russian aggression.
“Ukraine is our partner. A partner of NATO and a partner of the Czech Republic. We have a common history, both countries were under Soviet rule. Ukraine is a good partner of NATO. Ukraine deserves to decide its own destiny,” the official said.
The defence minister said the Czech Republic could accept refugees from Ukraine in the event of a full-scale Russian attack: “If it is necessary to send women and children to a safe place, the Czech Republic should help here.”
