The President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, has launched a series of diplomatic efforts against the backdrop of the crisis around Ukraine.

On 13 February, Michel had a phone call with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the latest developments in and around Ukraine.

On 13 and 14 February, the President spoke to the Presidents and Prime ministers of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Sweden, Poland, Greece, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands to coordinate the EU’s response in case of any further Russian aggression.

“Russia will bear both the responsibility and face the consequences. We are united in our solidarity and support to Ukraine,” Michel said on Twitter.
