“The situation today is fundamentally different. By his actions in eastern Ukraine, Putin is violating not only the Minsk agreements but also the UN Charter, which provides for the preservation of territorial integrity and sovereignty of states”, – he said.
“It sounds like a technical moment, but it is a necessary step so that the certification of the gas pipeline cannot take place now. Without this certification “Nord Stream-2″ cannot be launched”, – the chancellor said.
Earlier, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok said that Germany was considering imposing sanctions on the completed but not put into operation the “Nord Stream-2” gas pipeline as a response to a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine.
