Russian military have already killed 135 children in Ukraine.
“As of the morning of March 25, 135 children were killed in Ukraine due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. Another 184 children were injured,” the Prosecutor General’s Office posted on Telegram with reference to juvenile prosecutors.
The largest losses were reported in Kyiv region – 64, Kharkiv region – 44, Donetsk region – 46, Chernihiv region – 34, Mykolaiv region – 25, Zaporizhzhia region – 26, Kyiv city – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15, Kherson region – 15, and Sumy region – 14.
As a result of fierce fighting in the town of Rubizhne, Luhansk region, two children died.
On March 24, two children aged 6 and 13 were injured in the Russian shelling of the village of Novomykhailivka, Marinka district, Donetsk region.
Moreover, three teenagers – 13, 14, and 15 years old – fell victims to a landmine in the village of Obilne, Melitopol district, Zaporizhzhia region, on March 24. Boys were hospitalized to a Melitopol hospital. One of them is in critical condition in an intensive care unit.
As a result of daily bombings and shelling, 566 educational institutions have been damaged, 73 of which were completely destroyed. More than 230 schools and 155 kindergartens have been damaged and destroyed. The worst situation is in Donetsk, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Kherson, Chernihiv regions and Kyiv city.
In addition, more than 40 children’s facilities have been affected by enemy fire, including medical facilities, art schools, sports facilities, and libraries.
These data are not final as it is not possible to inspect the sites of shelling in areas of active hostilities and in the temporarily occupied territories.
