Some 220 children have been killed since the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24.

According to Ukrinform, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported this on Telegram, referring to data from juvenile prosecutors.

“More than 626 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. According to official data, 220 children were killed and more than 406 were injured,” the statement said.

According to the statement, these figures are not final, as work is underway to establish the number of casualties in areas of active hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

According to the data received by juvenile prosecutors, most children were affected in Donetsk region – 139, Kyiv region – 115, Kharkiv region – 95, Chernihiv region – 68, Kherson region – 45, Mykolaiv region – 43, Luhansk region – 37, Zaporizhzhia region – 27, Sumy region – 17, Zhytomyr region – 15, and Kyiv city – 16.

As a result of enemy bombing and shelling, 1,584 educational establishments have been damaged, of which 118 were completely destroyed.

On the evening of May 2, the enemy launched a missile strike on the city infrastructure in Odesa. A 15-year-old boy was killed in the strike and another minor was hospitalized after a rocket hit a building where five people were staying.
