The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Department of Commerce began an investigation to find out how American-made electronics got into Russian weapons.

As noted, FBI agents began to interview representatives of American technology companies about how their computer chips could be in Russian military equipment seized in Ukraine. Representatives of the U.S. Department of Commerce, responsible for export control, also joined the investigation.

WP sources clarified that the details of American production revealed in particular in Russian radar systems, drones, tanks, as well as ship equipment.

One of the representatives of the US Ministry of Trade explained that the purpose of this investigation is to establish ways of how products could get into Russian military systems after the United States began to impose sanctions against Russia in 2014.
