Today’s Russian strike on the shopping center in Kremenchug is one of the most daring terrorist attacks in the history of Europe. Peaceful city, ordinary shopping center, inside – women, children, ordinary civilians… Before the announcement of the air alarm there were about a thousand people. Fortunately, as far as this is known at this time, many people managed to get out. They managed to bring. But inside there were still people: employees, part of the visitors…
Only absolutely frozen terrorists who should not be on the ground can strike with missiles on such an object. And this is not a false hit of missiles, this is a calculated Russian strike – it is in this shopping center.
It is not yet possible to establish the number of victims at this time. A fire broke out on an area of more than 10 thousand square meters. The rescue operation continues, but we must be aware that the losses can be significant.
As of this time, there are 12 dead, 24 wounded. How many people are under lockdown – set.
All the wounded will be given all the necessary help – Kiev doctors have already gone to Kremenchug. The Minister of Internal Affairs will coordinate all necessary actions.
My condolences to the family and loved ones who died in this terrible terrorist attack.
And I ask everyone and everyone – always, when you hear a siren of air alarm, go out into shelter. Be sure. Do not ignore. Russia will not stop at anything.
This morning I appealed to the United States to recognize Russia as a sponsor of terrorism. The relevant resolution is approved by the U.S. Senate Committee, and a legal decision can be made by the State Department. And this decision is obviously necessary, and it should be supported by the whole democratic world. I told the participants of the G7 summit, held in Germany.
As of today, Russia has already deployed almost 2,800 different cruise missiles against Ukraine. The number of bombs, rounds of jet artillery that hit our cities is simply not counted. There are hundreds of thousands of them in four months of war. It’s nothing but terror.
Today there was another brutal shelling of Kharkiv, northern Saltovka. At this time, there are five dead, more than 30 wounded, five of them children. All – peaceful people, no military.
The Russian state became the largest terrorist organization in the world. And that’s a fact. And this should be a legal fact. And everyone in the world should know that buying or transporting Russian oil, storing звʼязки with Russian banks, paying taxes and duties to the Russian state is to give money to terrorists.
I also said today, addressing the leaders of the “Seven,” that our common potential is absolutely enough to defeat the Russian army – it does not know how to fight.
All the operations we carry out to de-occupy our territories show one thing: the invaders pour when they have something to pressure. They can not resist. They are enough only for such vile blows that were in Kremenchuk today or on Saltovka, only for the total mindless destruction of all living things as in Mariupol. Therefore, the war may not be delayed if, indeed, all together we can press and push the occupiers from our Ukrainian land. The sooner this happens, the more lives will be saved.
Even before the full-scale war began, we told our partners that we needed modern missile defense. This was repeated after February 24. People in a shopping center in Kremenchug deserved security just like people in any moth of the world – somewhere in Philadelphia or in Tel Aviv, or in a shopping gallery somewhere in Dresden.
The world is capable, and therefore must stop Russian terror. And now I can say it – I heard it from our partners: Ukraine should get reliable missile protection, we expect the supply of appropriate systems.
And another important result of the “seven,” which is worth talking about right now. This is already officially agreed: the most powerful democracies in the world will support our state as much as is necessary for our victory.
