
Current sanctions against Russia are insufficient, a new package of sanctions is necessary.
At this, during a joint press conference with the head of the Foreign Ministry of Finland Pekka Haavisto on Friday in Helsinki said Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau.
“The Russian regime should be isolated from the international community and the economy. Current sanctions are not enough, we must continue to work on a new package of restrictive measures, “Rau stressed.
He noted that Poland welcomes Finland’s application for NATO membership, noting that its joining the Alliance will significantly enhance security and political stability in the Baltic Sea area.
He also thanked Finland for its solidarity and support to Ukraine.
In turn, Haavisto said that his country is solidarity with Ukraine, which Russia attacked. He informed that Finland accepted more than 20 thousand refugees from Ukraine, his country also allocated 70 million euros to rebuild Ukraine.
The Finnish Minister noted that Russian aggression against Ukraine on February 24 accelerated the process of his country’s integration into NATO.
