Citizens of the Czech Republic transfer to Ukraine the sum of 1,968 kroons, recalling the Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968.
This was announced by the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic on its Facebook page.
“These days, dozens of payments from Czech friends in the amount of «1968»are received in the charity account of the embassy in support of the Ukrainian. Thank you very much!”, the message says.
On Sunday, Prague will host a benefit concert called “NeverMore 68”, which will draw a parallel between the occupation of Czechoslovakia in August 1968 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
