Fraud, disinformation and above all incitement of hatred, killing innocent people in an independent country will never be considered journalism and russian propaganda centres will never become media.
The Association of Polish Journalists has called for russian propagandists to be tried as war criminals. The association released a statement to this effect on 24 August.
“In connection with the six-month barbaric invasion of independent Ukraine, as representatives of the Association of Polish Journalists, we again demand accountability for the crimes committed against civilians there, not only by bandits in russian uniform, but also by so-called journalists – propagandists committed to the kremlin regime. . The propagandists not only misinform the world community about moscow’s bloody aggression against Ukraine, but also encourage it to fight against Ukrainians in the name of imperialist interests of Putin and his supporters,” the statement said.
In particular, the Polish journalists recall Margarita Simonyan, Vladimir Solovyov, Dmitriy Kiselev and Olga Skabeyeva.
“These are just examples of liars and warlords who pretend to be journalists. They are the most famous faces of russian propaganda. Unfortunately, there are many more, given that russia now has no free media,” the statement said.
“World journalist organisations and national media associations must constantly influence democratic governments and international institutions, given the obvious need to prepare tribunals for the russian army bandits who sow terror in Ukraine, to recognize as war criminals also russian propagandists who encourage in the kremlin media and try to justify mass murders, rapes and robberies,” the Polish journalists said.
