On September 7, 2022, on the sidelines of the 11th General Assembly of the World Council of Churches in Karlsruhe, Germany, Metropolitan Anthony, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of Moscow Patriarchate, met with Archbishop Urmas Viilma of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Estonia.
The conversation touched on themes of cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Estonia.
Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), secretary of the DECL for inter-Christian relations, also took part in the meeting.
