The USA issued only a few visas to the delegation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, to the UN General Assembly – most of the Russian diplomats still do not have the right to enter the USA. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Vasyl Nebenzya, according to Russian mass media. “Part of the delegation flying with the minister has been issued visas. In most cases, visas were not issued. We are waiting. We are waiting for the American authorities to issue visas for the delegation going to the high-level segment of the General Assembly as soon as possible,” Nebenzya said.
The 77th session of the UN General Assembly will be held in New York from September 20 to 26. This year the meeting will be held face-to-face. The Russian delegation will be headed by Serhii Lavrov. His performance is scheduled for September 24. The central topic of the upcoming session, according to the head of the General Assembly Chab Koroshi, will be “a turning point, revolutionary solutions for intertwined challenges.”
