“At this time, there are criminal groups operating in our country that aim to destabilize Moldova. The attacks on us are part of the hybrid war that we are facing right now. Such groups that pay people like them to participate in anti-government demonstrations , are directly financed by the Russian Federation. These hostile actions are revenge for the contribution of the Republic of Moldova to this war, revenge for the fact that we stand in solidarity with the EU and Ukraine,” Maya Sandu emphasized.

“The Republic of Moldova defends itself against attacks, but we all have to defend the Republic of Moldova,” she added.

Sandu also said that the consequences of the war will be felt for many decades to come, and that Moldova will choose “democracy, peace, freedom” together with Ukraine.

“We will continue to support Ukraine. Moldova is at the forefront of these efforts of solidarity with Ukraine. We will continue to actively fight against trafficking in arms, people. We will strengthen these capabilities to be a shield for the EU against such risks. However, the consequences of the war will be felt for many decades to come. The Republic “Moldova chooses democracy, peace, freedom, the EU and the fight against corruption,” Sandu said.
