
The commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk, discussed with the commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, General James Hacker, the strengthening of the capabilities of the Ukrainian air defense system in the context of the possible transfer of F-16 aircraft.
“The other day, I had a phone conversation with the commander of the US Air Force in Europe and Africa, General James Hacker. He talked about the 365 days of the battle for Ukrainian skies, about the current situation at the front, and specific issues of the air defense organization of Ukraine,” Oleschuk noted.
The commanders also discussed prospective areas of bilateral cooperation regarding the supply of military equipment, weapons and ammunition within the framework of international technical assistance to Ukraine, in particular strengthening the capabilities of the Ukrainian air defense system.
The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces thanked General Hecker, the leadership and the people of the United States for their consistent support to Ukraine.
