
Two civilians were killed in a rocket attack on a five-story residential building in Zaporizhzhia. Rescuers rescued 11 people from the rubble. The building is almost completely destroyed.
Anatoliy Kurtiev, Secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council, on Telegram:
“According to preliminary information, two people died. We express our sincere condolences to their families and friends.”
Kurtiev said that the five-story building was almost completely destroyed by the Russian attack. People are still trapped under the rubble.
The State Emergency Service, the National Police, the city council and social protection services have set up assistance centers at the site of the attack. Municipal buses are being used to evacuate people affected by the attack.
The city council secretary said that information on the full extent of the consequences of the attack has not yet been confirmed.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that all floors of the apartment building were destroyed around one stairwell. (Apartment buildings in Ukraine usually have several “stairwells”, each with a separate entrance – ed.)
In total, 90 rescuers, including three psychologists, are working at the scene, and 24 units of equipment are involved.

As of 06:30, 11 people, including a pregnant woman, have been rescued after a Russian missile hit a residential building in Zaporizhzhia, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reports.
Rescuers pulled the bodies of two dead from the rubble and evacuated 20 residents from apartments in a neighboring stairwell of the same building.
Search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
