Hungary has blocked the payment of the eighth tranche from the European Peace Facility in the amount of EUR 500 million for weapons that EU member states send to Ukraine.
That’s according to ANSA, Ukrinform reports.
“Hungary, surprisingly, today blocked the payment of the eighth tranche of the European Peace Facility (EPF) for weapons intended for Ukraine,” source told the agency.
The EUR 500 million tranche was set to be paid next Monday, May 22. But Budapest blocked the decision, allegedly demanding ‘guarantees’ that the European Peace Facility will not be used in the future exclusively to help Ukraine.
